Handling, Cleaning and Packaging – Archive Collection Overviews

This one day training session will include; - Collection damage overview and handling guidelines for archive collections - Cleaning overview for archive collections - Packaging overview of KK archive collections

This one day training session will include;

- Collection damage overview and handling guidelines for archive collections (focus on volume structures/anatomy and use of supports)

- Cleaning overview for archive collections:

                 - how to make a cleaning station

                - dry cleaning techniques/equipment (focus on volumes with cleaning demo; maps, glass plates, seals and manuscripts also discussed)

- Packaging overview of KK archive collections: (volumes, photographs/albums, oversized flat items, glass plates, manuscript bundles, maps, seals)

                - practical how to make a 4-flap folder (glued and non-glued)

                - practical how to wrap volumes and tie tapes

(Refreshments provided, please bring own lunch)
