Safeguarding Training Day 1: Embedding Safeguarding Practice and Child Protection Policy Audit

This course is aimed at Board Members, Senior Management, DSO’s and those responsible for writing and update the child protection and safeguarding policy for their museum.

This course looks at how to create a whole team approach to ensuring a culture of safe practice. It provides a chance to review the role and responsibilities of the designated safeguarding officer, explore effective methods for disseminating changes across staff/ volunteer teams and examine ways of including young people’s voice to influence your procedures. The trainer will help participants carry out an audit of their organisation and create an action plan, highlighting necessary policy updates in line with current legislation and best practice.

Cornwall Museums Partnership are keen to promote its sustainability programme and has recently been encouraging staff and partners to, among other things, car share in order to reduce the overall carbon footprint. We would encourage delegates attending meetings/events run by Cornwall Museums Partnership to use Liftshare Cornwall – (https://liftshare.com/uk/community/cornwall) and The Pasty Connection Facebook Group – (https://www.facebook.com/groups/123436594346182/) alongside using public transport where possible in order to help us achieve our goal.
